This is my to-go book for techniques. It is especially useful for skin reactions, stages of play, dungeon etiquette, negotiation, what-can-go-wrong stories as well as beautiful, sexy, juicy stories that will keep your fantasy engaged for a long time. It is, however, written from a dominant + top perspective, a.k.a. the top is always dominant and he is usually a heavy player.
The classic (medical) book on the Gate Theory of Pain, first published in 1965. It contains fascinating scientific cases of why injury is unrelated to pain (i.e. the phantom limb pain or headaches) and how scientists study the complex mechanism of pain signals.
For a jungian perspective on “everything BDSM”, the soul-centered beauty of kink, the collective unconscious, the innate play-potential of a scene, the call of depth this new book by Douglas Thomas is highly recommended.
Active-alert (or waking) hypnosis is at the heart of altered state of consciousness. For a overview, physiology and differentiation from “relaxed” hypnosis I recommend this resource (full text from this link). This article was written by Éva Bányai, one of the earliest pioneer scientists of active-alert hypnosis in the 1970’s.

Flow Flogging
My hero and inspiration is Flog and Flow. I highly recommend their youtube channel for training on poi flogging (florentine flogging), Notice how he stands for accuracy over power. Love this guy.
Floggers
Flog & Flow for the type of floggers, especially for flow flogging. They also have a list of flogger manufacturers they recommend.
Many of my traditional floggers come from Denmark, and I can only recommend Dan and his crazy-named beasts.
If you’d like to get into flow flogging but still retain some of the control that traditional-handle floggers provide, then I recommend wrist or chain floggers. This is where I got mine from.
For a Berlin-based selection of floggers come to to the kinky market!
